Sugar Waxing

Sugaring is a form of hair removal that was first used by Cleopatra in 1900 BC. This method traditionally uses the “ball method”, in which the esthetician uses their fingers to manipulate a sugar paste into a ball on the tip of their fingers and mold the sugar paste to the skin. The paste is made of only sugar, water, and lemon juice – making it a natural formulation that sufficiently shrink-wraps around the hair follicle. The paste is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth and removes hair from the follicle in the same direction of hair growth while simultaneously exfoliating dead skin. Consistent sugaring services can lead to permanency in hair removal thanks to sugar’s ability to remove hair at the root of the follicle. Client’s find that sugaring causes less adverse reactions, smoother skin, as well as thinner and sparser hair regrowth.
